About Me
Anneka Cady
Throughout my life, I always enjoyed the process of creating from my own hands. Drawing and doodling for me has always been a productive hobby, as I would sit down after school and draw the characters I watched on television. Art was always around me and was encouraged, taking after my mother and grandmother, who introduced me to new mediums, projects, and techniques to help explore my passion.
Growing up in the outer suburbs of Chicago, we were an avid couch co-op game family. Holidays always meant Nintendo tournaments between the cousins, and I would always find a way to stay up till 3 am without my parent's suspecting just to make my Sims get to the height of their Lifetime Achievements.
Oustide of games of course, I had many other interests as well. I studied the art of classical ballet under various instructors from prestigious ballet companies, such as New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Odessa Government Theatre, and the Joffery Ballet in Chicago. In high school, I developed a love for the digital arts and illustration. This is when I started to experiment combining two familiar art forms I knew, expressive movement and digital media, which led me to pursue a degree in Visual Effects at the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a minor in 3D Animation.
My journey has brought me to work with Microsoft's Turn 10 Studios, out in beautiful Redmond, WA, as a Look Development artist. My focus is to bridge the gap between good and great when it comes to our visuals, helping our creative teams problem solve and explore new methods of capturing content like photogrammetry. I feel like I am a jack of many trades, which has only helped me become more well-rounded as an artist, a teammate, and a creative thinker.
